Heya! Wondering if it’s possible for a PC Fighter to teach ‘Action Surge’ to a PC Warlock. (Also, Happy Birthday!) The warlock would get Action Surge through multiclassing. And thanks!

Yes, RAW, Archer has DisAdv VS Prone. How’d you rule?I run conditions the way they're written.

Could Paladin smite in an Anti-Magic field?
We spent too much game time Friday night debating whether a paladin could smite in an Anti-Magic field. For example, if a paladin's smite uses a spell slot, does that mean that they're accessing the Weave to produce the effect?

Divine Smite & Improved Divine Smite are definitely in a gray area relative to antimagic field. IDS definitely works there. DS—DM's call.

My player wants to dual wield shields, has tavern brawler, what happens with AC?
@mikemearls So uh… My player wants to dual wield shields, has tavern brawler, fights with shields, and is curious: What happens with AC?
— Lord Kurov (@Archmage_Kurov) August 29, 2017
No matter how many shields you're wielding, you get the AC bonus only once. #DnD https://t.co/s5rbhf15FN

Can a charmed creature cast fireball near the charmer?
Does that mean a charmed creature can't cast fireball near the charmer? I've often read it can, because it doesn't "target" the charmer.
— Millstone85 (@Stonemill1985) August 15, 2017
Fireball refers to the creatures it damages as targets.

Barbarians Feral Instinct vs Assassinate
@JeremyECrawford pic.twitter.com/sxLKp1S4TO
— Keith (@Glytched) August 24, 2017
Feral Instinct ends a barbarian's surprise only if the barbarian rages on their turn. Before then, that barbarian is surprised. #DnD https://t.co/hD5Pw1Q5Jm
— Jeremy Crawford (@JeremyECrawford) August 25, 2017
I guess I’m confused on the whole mechanic now. If surprise gives the Assassin a “free” attack, how can the Barbarian rage before it?The barbarian can't rage when it's not the barbarian's turn.
— Jeremy Crawford (@JeremyECrawford) August 25, 2017
So this only really applies during regular combat, and not say, an ambush? All combat follows the combat rules, no matter how the fight started.

Are there plans for an updated Reincarnate table with the new races?
@JeremyECrawford Are there plans for an updated Reincarnate table with the new races that have been released?
— Jamie Denko (@justarouge) August 21, 2017
The reincarnate table intentionally includes only races in the PH, but the spell lets the DM ignore the table and choose a form. #DnD https://t.co/YqXtRBoA76

Can the casting of a Warlock’s Mystic Arcanum be targetted for Counterspell?
@JeremyECrawford Can the casting of a Warlock's Mystic Arcanum be targetted for Counterspell or the Arcanum's effects with Dispel Magic?

A spell is a spell no matter what feature or item allows you to cast it. #DnD https://t.co/zmCCjC2VLd
— Jeremy Crawford (@JeremyECrawford) August 14, 2017
Does this include monsters with innate spellcasting, as it applies to player resistances/reactions/abilities? My group can't agree on it.
— Caci 🐘 (@CaciGibson) August 15, 2017
A spell is always a spell. It doesn't matter who's casting it, what's casting it, where it is, or how it was learned. It's a spell. #DnD https://t.co/xDsKMRgYTu
— Jeremy Crawford (@JeremyECrawford) August 15, 2017
So when we describe it as a magical secret from you patron is that all fluff or flavor? It is a magical secret—a spell with special casting rules for you.
