@JeremyECrawford do the spells known by a class include any racial spells they may know? so bards start off with 2 cantrips, would a tiefling's thaumaturgy count as one of them?

@JeremyECrawford Can you cast a spell, any spell, without actually "knowing" the spell? Or are all spells available for you to cast considered "known" to you? ex: Shadow Monk: Darkness. Does he know the spell? The rules for Spells state that he has to know it or have an item.

So the part on p201 that states you have to have the spell fixed firmly in your mind means that you don’t actually have to know the spell? How does that make sense? It’s contradictory. The features circumvent that rule.

…which allows you to cast a spell that you don’t actually know how to cast? This is the part I’m having trouble with. If you know HOW to cast it, then it is a known spell. How could it be otherwise? You channel it innately. Many characters and monsters in the game can cast certain spells innately and have no idea how they do it.
