@spookymonsterDoes War Caster feat still require a free hand for material components? The War Caster feat doesn't change the need to handle a spell's material component.

If PCs suspect ambush, should DM use passive or active Perception?
@JeremyECrawford LMoP, p. 7, if PCs suspect ambush, should DM use passive or active Perception (vs. mob Stealth)?
— John Platte (@jplatte11) July 5, 2015
I usually don't ask for a Wisdom (Perception) check unless a character is actively trying to perceive something. https://t.co/vbw3qgJ39O

Given the DragonMarks are subraces, does this mean the Artificer’s Magic Item Savant allows you to ignore them?
Given the DragonMarks are subraces, does this mean the Artificer’s Magic Item Savant allows you to ignore them for the purpose of attuning to magic items as it allows you to ignore all class, race, spell and level reqs or are they not part of the actual race? The artificer can ignore the requirement!

Mending cantrip, could they use it to repair/recover ALL of their recovered arrows spent in combat vs half?
@Morukai If someone has Mending cantrip, could they use it to repair/recover ALL of their recovered arrows spent in combat vs half? Using the spell in that way is up to the DM. Keep in mind, it would take 1 minute per arrow, assuming you could find each one.

Are Polearm master + Sentinel feats very over power?
@longhornxtreme @mikemearlsIs there any errata dealing with polearm master + sentinel feats? Seems broken to me. Thoughts? #dnd
There's no errata dealing with the interaction of those feats.
— Jeremy Crawford (@JeremyECrawford) November 8, 2015
@longhornxtremeThanks for the reply. Just seems like those two feats combined is “broken” and very OP. Still, loving 5e #dnd
Their effectiveness relies on monsters rushing into melee. A DM can neutralize them with different tactics. @mikemearls
— Jeremy Crawford (@JeremyECrawford) November 8, 2015
@longhornxtremeUnderstood. But it’s quite powerful against boss monsters with no reach / ranged attack. #dnd In my campaigns, a boss monster deserves to perish if it doesn't rethink its tactics or flee if outmatched. @mikemearls
— Jeremy Crawford (@JeremyECrawford) November 8, 2015
@JeremyECrawford @mikemearls Fair enough! Although if you're not meta gaming, the boss might not get a chance to rethink due to no move #dnd

Can a rogue draw and throw two weapons every round without the Dual Wielder feat?
@skipperxc @dangladingneed a ruling: can a rogue draw and throw two weapons every round without the Dual Wielder feat? I say no, @danglading says yes. i believe yes, but @JeremyECrawford can give the definitive answer
— Mike Mearls (@mikemearls) October 15, 2014
@danglading @skipperxc @Plaguescarred @mikemearls You can normally draw only 1 weapon for free on your turn. Dual Wielder lets you draw 2.

Can a monk use a versatile weapon 2-handed as a monk weapon?
@bjrecio @mikemearlsCan a monk use a versatile weapon 2-handed as a monk weapon? #dnd5e Yep! The prohibition is against a weapon with the two-handed property, not against using a weapon with two hands.

Cleric 2/Wizard 2 finds a 2nd level spell in a book, can he copy 2nd level wizard spell into his book?
@JeremyECrawford : cleric 2/wizard 2 finds a 2nd level spell in a book. By multiclassing rule he has 4 1st and 3 2nd level slots? (cont.)
— Allen Shock (@allenshock1) September 18, 2014
@allenshock1(cont.) can he copy 2nd level wiz spell into his book even though Wiz 2 can’t normally cast 2nd level spells? and then cast No, and he can use those 2nd-level slots only to cast 1st-level spells.
