@GSLLC @JeremyECrawford#DnD #5e question: Does the spell, Counterspell, work against a creature’s innate spell-like ability? works against anything that is a spell. so, a creature that has an ability to cast fireball would be subject to it
— Mike Mearls (@mikemearls) April 25, 2015
@GSLLC @JeremyECrawfordBut Medusa’s gaze. “Magical” but not a spell, so can’t be counterspelled, right? Drow innate spell could be.
correct – ability must boil down to “creature casts X” where X is a spell

Heroes,
I’m glad to inform you that my library opens today on Facebook.
https://www.facebook.com/sageadvice.eu
There you will find Questions&Answers from our favourites Dungeons&Dragons designers: Jeremy, Mike, Christopher, Rodney and more.
I will add some personal insights, nice pictures, top questions and I’ll try to answer you, but remember: I’m not a D&D designer, I’m just a librarian that collects and study designer answers and the three 5e tomes.
Your humble
Zoltar the Sage
@ReubenFontanaCould you please explain the difference between innate magical flight and (hover)? Are some monster entries missing hover? A few monsters are missing their hover trait, alas. The flameskull and ghost should have it, for example. We'll fix this.

@JeremyECrawford This includes Genies? Dao, Djinni, Efreeti, and Marid?
Essentially any creature that flies, but lacks wings in MM?— Dan Hunt (@Ironwood1981) September 7, 2016
@Ironwood1981 Some creatures, such as the genies, that lack wings also lack the hover trait.

“@ToraPanthera: @ChrisPerkinsDnD @dlunavtMore owlbears! More owlbears!”
Always with the owlbears.
— Christopher Perkins (@ChrisPerkinsDnD) March 13, 2015
“@Comfy_Couchman: Why is it always owlbears? Why not something new, like hawktigers? Or eaglelions?”
Pandamantas.

@VNarvekMM says Elves are immune to Ghoul paralysis. PHB says adv. vs charm, no magical sleep. No change in errata. Immunity or no? Both books are correct in this regard.

@ChrisPerkinsDnD a while back you mentioned an issue with book bindings. The races section of my PH just fell out. Can it be replaced? http://wizards.custhelp.com/

Races aren’t that important. 😬
