Hey, when you have a nonhuman commoner, do you apply racial mods directly to stat block or subtract 1 from each ability first? If you decide to add modifiers (which isn't a requirement, a dwarf gladiator can just go ahead and use the unmodified gladiator stat block), you add them straight on top.
