What is your best writing tip or hack? #amwriting

“Just do it” or “just write” is great writing advice, but it sure helps to know what you want to write first. Get the idea, soak in it, then just do it. But getting into a habit of writing every day (with necessary breaks) will help with the quick transitions from idea to writing to idea.

Corollary to that: Go nonlinear whenever you need to. Write out of order by design. Can’t figure out the start of a scene? Write the ending first. You’re feeling the dialogue but can’t see the visuals? Write all the dialogue first, then write the visuals, then stitch together.
