I’M NOT A DUNGEONS&DRAGONS DESIGNER, I reply if I have a right answer but my answers are not official.
I’m just a librarian that collects and study designer answers.

Greetings, my question has been a key point between my dm and myself so i’m looking to get an answer from someone like yourself. I play a changeling and my question is, can changelings be detected by something like detect magic. I want to know is the change of the forms a magical effect or natural. I find it ridiculous that my changeling could be detected by some minor magic as in the UA it says they are the perfect spies. They would be pretty bad spies if every level one could detect them haha. Thanks.

      Epic Jared

I’d rule that changeling are not magical, they can’t be identified untile shapehifting occour during detecting

    Why hello,

Way of the Four Elements archetype for monks states that your class “learns” new elemental discipline at levels 6, 11, and 17. Now in theory could a Elements monk learn new disciplines outside of those level brackets?

Hi I am running a ranger with two weapon fighting. He is 8th level with extra attack and the horde breaker feature. Two weapon fighting the second attack is a bonus action. Under the horde breaker feature it does not say it is a bonus action, but is it a bonus action?

When using pact of the blade does transforming a magical weapon mean that you can only create that same magical weapon or does the properties now apply to any newly created weapon?

    • Zoltar says:

      Bold Tyren
I’d rule that a magical weapons can’t be transformed in other weapons. If you find a dagger +2 I don’t let you transform in a Greatsword +2

It’s just my personal opinion, I’m not a dnd designer. Maybe I would allow weapon of the same proprieties and size

Great Zoltar I have a question re guarding Druids based of these two parts of information. Source PHB P67: You choose whether your equipment falls to the ground in your space, merges into your new form, or is worn by it. Worn equipment functions as normal, but the DM decides whether it is practical for the new form to wear a piece of equipment based on the creatures shape and size. Your equipment doesn’t change size or shape to match the new form. (The way i understand it this is based for normal equipment). Source DMG P140: In most cases, a magic item that’s meant to be worn can fit a creature regardless of size or build, many magic garments are made to be easily adjustable, or they magically adjust themselves to the wearer. From the information based off these two sections does it mean that a druid with a set of +1 magical studded leather armor could wear it well wild shaped into say a Dire Wolf or a Bear. Thanks in advance for reply.

As DM I’d rule that every item worn by Druid will merge in the new form and there are no garments that you see on the beast.
If you want to sneak an orc camp in wolf form will be a problem if enemies will see a wolf with a armor than a wild wolf without it, they probably think that is a trained wolf or maybe wants that armor for themselves.

My advice is to merge items with you.

I understand what you are saying but why word in a way that leads one to believe they can wear armor if they cannot, also animals can wear armor already its in the mount section of the PHB. But i am probably going to allow it for some forms not others e.g a medium creature can shift one size bigger or smaller with magical armor and it will adapt to fit the form but for huge or tiny its too big or small so it has to merge or be dropped on the floor. also i will remove there natural armor bonus if they are wearing armor. So at best 19 AC is what will be achievable for a druid. Not to add they are very limited in gaining access to armor in general due to the metal restriction. Thanks again for advice and i if you like i can inform you how it works out from a DM stand point.
