Ed’s gargoyle
Behold yon gargoyle
Gleefully insane
As it sits munching on a brain
Its not-yet-eaten kills are piled up in carts
But never mind, again it starts
To assist people from “alive” to “slain”— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) July 12, 2018
It is an ancient and well-worn shield
Of arrows, it stoppeth one of three
Its bearer spared the need to yield
Until he encountered me— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) July 13, 2018
Yon hermit, through long threadbare seclusion
And wits-wandering, though he says he’s regained his own
At last has reached a firm, nay adamant conclusion
For beds with soft sheets, and noble feasts, his longings have fierce grown— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) July 13, 2018
A princess playing at cards with a swindler shrewd
Lost hand after hand until she was quite nude
Then her father the king came along
And trusting in discretion seemed wrong
So then and there she invented a new dance he deemed “a trifle rude”— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) July 14, 2018
“The hooded figure stepped out from behind the tree”
1)
The hooded figure stepped out from behind the tree for just long enough to loose an arrow that sprouted in the eye of the envoy’s horse. It reared, shuddering—then crashed to the ground, the envoy leaping clear of the great…#epic fantasy— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) July 14, 2018
2)
…bulk and lashing hooves just in time. Without a word, the baron’s bodyguard calmly reached down a hand to haul the envoy up onto his own horse.
The envoy stared at the proffered hand, then, incredulously, up at the baron.#epic fantasy— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) July 14, 2018
3)
“No PURSUIT? You’re all going to just sit there on your beasts, and let that murderous bandit get AWAY?”
The baron shrugged. “This is the Hood’s forest. That’s his toll collector. Just as you collect taxes for the king.”#epic fantasy— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) July 14, 2018
4)
“You’re comparing me to a man who kills HORSES?”
The baron shrugged again. “If you choose to see it that way.”
“If you TALKED less,” the bodyguard growled, “you’d come off a little better in the comparison. A little.”#epic fantasy— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) July 14, 2018
If it is true that you can zigzag some wall of xxx, can I make a cage with wall of fire to trap people?
If it is true that you can zigzag some wall of xxx, can I make a cage with wall of fire to trap people? ( like 10feet*4, a square )
* thorn, fire, sand, water, light, they don’t talk about “flat superfice”. Instead force and ice do it. believe yes – you can hem creatures in— Mike Mearls (@mikemearls) June 23, 2018
A very compact kit for DMing that has everything in one little bag
I have a nice, very compact kit for DMing that has everything I need in one little bag. I also just bought an enormous carrying case for when it’s time to bust out the 3D terrain and get all FANCY up in there.

Do you have a recommendation for the compact kit? I have a Rick Steves travel bag that is specially sized for an iPad. It has enough little pockets that I can fit my gear in there, keeping in mind I used PDF adventures and @DnDBeyond rather than print books

It's totally Delta Force.

How you do random encounters during a rest period?
Just wondering how you do random encounters during a rest period. What dice are you rolling and what is the number for it? comparing ideas so I can either take one or tweak something for my needs. I have a list of possible encounters (some combat, some just interesting), and I roll to see if any occur. If one does, I either roll for which one, or choose based on what’s most likely.
