#dnd tip for player management: one part of dealing with players is giving everyone roughly equal attention. But it's also important to provide the right kind of attention. Storytellers might benefit from different attention than an optimizer.

Here we go with the labels! 😀 I don’t worry about storytellers and optimizers. I worry about Bryan and Gregg and Pat and Michelle and Sharon. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I am going to be using labels in each of my tips for the rest of the month. I'll just assume that you disagree with what I am saying, or would do things differently. It'll save you a few characters… 😀

It’s just a false dichotomy, is all, to divide story-focused and rules-focused players. For sure, and I would not make that dichotomy.

I have words to spare! 😁 Sometimes don’t you wish Twitter didn’t have a “reply”?
The discussion is still helping me get my head around the topic and I thank you for that.

We're not even disagreeing. I'm talking about something that I know has helped me and other DMs in dealing with players over the years. Mike's arguing semantics. I'll let others argue semantics. When I have the luxury of running only a home game, I'll speak to those points.

I agree that we’re not really disagreeing. I bet, over a slice of carrot cake, we’d be on the same page about it–mostly. Oh lord, the carrot cake… so delicious, so painful…
