D&D is bringing back alignments to monster statblocks (with a twist!) pic.twitter.com/MNNixz8tfI

You say “monster” statblocks.. What about intelligent creatures/humanoids statblocks? Named NPCs have specific alignments, generalized intelligent creatures (like a Bullywug Knight, for instance) have the “Typically” tossed in front of it.

D&D had already solved this in 3rd edition.
Stat blocks would predicate monster alignments with:
“Often”
“Usually”
“Always”Kind of amazed there has been so much difficulty getting to a place we were at 20 years ago. https://t.co/1discuTXjW pic.twitter.com/wRF3mNLINt

I was mainly kidding. Though, I don’t like adding something to every monster when it can be in general rules/guidance. It’s already a general rule/guidance. That doesn’t work. 🤷♂️
