Is there any reason why the Bard spell list does not include the Thaumaturgy and Alter Self spells? These two spells seem extremely appropriate and useful for a performer/orator. I wasn’t around when those decisions were made, but my guesses are as follows:
1. Thaumaturgy is thematically a manifestation of divinity. The booming voice thing is more BE NOT AFRAID than a microphone.
2. Bard shtick doesn’t cry out for physical self-transformation.

Was adding the spells to the Variant Class UA considered by any chance? Also don’t Bards have the Polymorph and Tenser’s Transformation spells now, aren’t those considered Physical-Self Transformation spells? Polymorph is more for the buff/debuff of others (though it could be used on the bard, sure) and Tenser’s is for Valor/Swords support, less about shape changing.
