@TheEdVerse Do we know what year Neverember took over as Open Lord of Waterdeep or how he initially came to his wealth?
I see him like the bootleggers, working his way up through adventuring and/or illicit enterprises, then trying to retroactively declare himself old wealth.

1/2) See https://t.co/jJXuHJI7ub for the best quick overview of all lore references to Dagult Neverember (4e stats for him: p88 of the Neverwinter Campaign Setting). I think your view of his rise…#Realmslore https://t.co/E2i6oUvX1G

2/2) …and “image makeover” is spot-on. He grew up in Neverwinter, and was Open Lord of Waterdeep from 1479 DR (if lore notes passed to me by other sages of the Realms are correct), until 1489 DR.#Realmslore

Thanks! A pleasure! Now, back to designing something that's still semi-secret… ;}

This makes me wonder: Is there any inconsistency in dates?
I mean, according to the NCS, opposition to Neverember started c.1474, when the Harpers tried to sabotage his efforts to annex the city. Or did he started his plans before being elected as Open Lord? He started his plans before being elected as Open Lord. Neverember ALWAYS has a dozen or so shady/secret schemes under way, and is ALWAYS planning not just a Plan B, but Plans C,D,E,F, and G. The man approaches life like chess, seeing future patterns and "if this" consequences.

Thank you, Ed. Really, this helps me a lot with my NW compilation project (I’ll share it in Candlekeep soon, I hope).
I’ll have to update a lot of articles in the Wiki as well, lol Good! The truth will out!!!! ;} Neverember just tries to stay a country mile or three ahead of it.
Hmmm…like certain politicians down all the centuries…— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) January 14, 2019
