do all spells have a target? Casting unseen servant or mage hand, it is still subject to the “A Clear Path to the Target” rule and can’t be cast behind a wall within range? In the case of those spells the target is the location at which the conjured thing appears. You do need a clear path to that location.

What would you say to someone who feels that conjuring something in a space is akin to “teleporting” the conjuration there?
I see these interactions frequently in cases such as Wall of Force, or escaping a cage at low levels. Jeremy has answered my very question on this way back when, that the creatures being teleported are the target of a teleportation, not the destination.It's not the same as conjuring something into that spot over there. Teleports are deliberately different.
