A question that I have pondered recently @TheEdVerse is on the nature of Liches and the idea that some strive toward immortality that ultimately dooms them. My question is, do all mages at some point have to face the temptation of darkness or it just a path that only some face? It's entirely up to a wizard's individual character (who they are). Not all of us want immortality, or even "just let me hang on until I accomplish THIS." Some of us want oblivion when we get old or tired or broken-sick or heartsick. Some accomplish their crowning goal+ are happy

I always tend to think that magic is like a tidal wave and either you are on for the ride or get sucked in by its pull. Magic is power, and power is corrupting, yes. But some can just step aside from its lure, while others…
