I am prepping a campaign set in your classic gray box edition of the Forgotten Realms. Did you consider Half Orcs a playable race at the table? I know they were included in the AD&D 1e PHB but could not find much about them in the Cyclopedia booklet. Yes, I do. Jeff and Karen had to "cram" that boxed set; it could only hold a 30th of what I sent them. Many things had to be omitted or dealt with in a handful of words.

I’d like to imagine a 5e world where half orcs are as suitable a race as any, but let’s be honest: what is the backstory that rings true for a half orc that doesn’t elusively entail some anti-lore related social situation? Ok, half orc, what God do you serve? What’s your life’s ambition? Alright, same as any other race… Just a tad stronger. Of course half orc should be a readily accessible race, just don’t expect your DM to give a $#!t.
