story design tip: Anytime you’re working with a ruin (dungeon, castle, et al) that’s centuries old and exposed to the elements (especially if it’s got a monster-based ecosystem), pretty much anything formerly inside it will have succumbed to the passage of time. 1/ If it’s important for furnishings, wall hangings, weapons, the skeletons of former occupants, and anything else susceptible to rot or rust to still exist, you want to set up a water-and-microbe-free environment, or factor in special materials or preservative magic. 2/2
