Vecna Lives is a module precisely along these same lines.
In my home games I explain the cosmology of the universe to all source from the planet, it is itself a font of power that the god suck on like leeches. This allows me to explain divinity, magic and old faith”druidism”. So if you shattered the planet, they would starve and dwindle.
I’m currently running a campaign where an entity fed up with the gods indifference to suffering placed a set of barriers in the feywild and shadowfell. Which has cut off divine magic from the world, with the help of a new non magical faith and thousands of years. Only thing that can penetrate said barrier are warlock patrons from both of those realms.
