@JeremyECrawford Volo's Guide – Gnoll Flesh Gnawer – Sudden Rush: It's an Action right? So it can't Multiattack & Sudden Rush in its turn?

— Stephane Bureau (@buro00) November 16, 2016

If a monster ability is in the Actions section of the stat block, the ability is an action. #DnD https://t.co/0HMlvktqfG

@ChrisPerkinsDnD Just curious, are any of the monsters in Volo's 5e original? Or are they all ported from previous editions?

— Andrew Six (@TheDrewFro66) November 13, 2016

There are a few original monsters, but most have histories dating back to earlier editions. #WOTCstaff https://t.co/gsKqiQYhgu

@mikemearls can you explain your stance on gnolls, at all? Going from *very* good 4e winning races writeup to "they're mutant hyena demons"

— SocialJusticeWarlock (@DoctorBadWolf) October 28, 2016

Nothing is stopping you from running gnoll PCs in your game. We have to pick what we put into a book based on lore. #wotcstaff https://t.co/JQ9fNkV0Zw

@Sam_Urfer Wasn’t the Gnoll a second tier pick when the race options survey went out? Not clear why Gnoll lore can’t work, but Orcs can?
looking at the data I have, gnolls are at the bottom of the second tier – not 0, but behind a lot of options #wotcstaff

— (((Mike Mearls))) (@mikemearls) October 28, 2016

@Sam_UrferOK, so not a super-popular option: that seems a better reason, ad the lore is there historically for playable Gnolls? not per our default lore – we're trying to make each humanoid race more distinct. #wotcstaff

@LeMarcSharma @JeremyECrawfordDo Tritons speak underwater with each other, and if yes, can they cast spells underwater? yes and yes

@ThatLoneGamer yup, anticipate revising list and requirements #WOTCstaff

@DnDJester You can thank @ChrisPerkinsDnDI kinda want to know why @Wizards_DnD updated the grung in Volo’s Guide to Monsters rather than the more well known grippli. for that gem!

— Dungeons & Dragons (@Wizards_DnD) November 6, 2016

Actually, it was Chris Lindsay who advocated putting grungs in VGtM. I mocked him mercilessly, but now I like them. #WOTCstaff https://t.co/np8iXmpTsv
