Or are such items rare to the point where our wizard friend would have to brave a dragon’s hoard instead? Oh, yes. Waterdeep, Athkatla, Baldur's Gate, Calimport, and the coastal cities of Sembia (and in Laerakond, Tarmalune Great Port) would all be places where you could buy such things.
