Can I play dead in the middle of a combat after getting hit?

@AlexOckhamCan I use perform proficiency to play dead in the middle of a combat after getting hit? Do I get advantage on my next attack?
I'd make it a Charisma (Deception) check contested against the target's passive Perception, but require PC to drop prone
