Question for @Dan_Dillon_1 or any wotc staff. When scrying, if the party met the “King” but it was actually a changeling disguised as the King (and they never met the original king). Does the scrying target the ACTUAL king or the changeling 👀 Scrying says "a particular creature you choose." So, it's going to depend on the caster's intent.
"I scry on the king we met" targets the doppelganger.
However, someone saying, "I scry on the king of Thalandria" will target the REAL king, wherever he may be. #WotCStaff #dnd

This is where the DM is going to have to be discerning, lean into what the character is intending to do and consider if it's a good time to reveal that something is amiss if they're non-specific.
Most of the time they likely mean "that individual I personally have met and know"
