As a DM what is your thoughts on a PC use of a Cantrip/Spell for “unintended” uses?

As a DM/GM what is your thoughts on a PC use of a Cantrip/Spell for “unintended” uses?
For instance using Prestidigitation to warm 1+ pounds of raw meat untill it dehydrates and becomes a Jerky.I like things like that, though I tend to be pretty loose with limiting PC power. As long as the players aren’t trying to find ways to break things, it can add a lot to a game.
