"Why do designers criticize D&D and not just promo their games?"
1. Most designer tweets are about their own games, but
2. Tweets about D&D get more engagement (making them more seen), and
3. When designers tweet about their games, folks ask why they don't make D&D. They respond.— James Introcaso (@JamesIntrocaso) January 23, 2022
I have a lot of tweets about Burn Bryte on my timeline. Definitely, without provocation, have had folks ask me why they should play it over D&D. It’s something I made and believe in, so of course I had answers. I clearly don’t hate D&D. Look at what I do for work. When someone makes a card game, people don't typically ask, "Why isn't this compatible with Uno's rules? I already spent money on Uno and invested time learning it." If they did, we'd have a lot of people criticizing Uno on the internet.
