How do cantrips interact with a Rod of Absorption? By RAW (both 2014 and 2024), it seems cantrips like fire bolt should be able to be absorbed, but does it add any absorbed spell levels to the rod?
The Nick Weapon Mastery continues to be a hot topic.
In your opinion, which of the following three examples do you believe is how the Nick Mastery officially works. 1. Do you have to use a weapon with the Nick Weapon Mastery as the primary attack to trigger the Mastery? 2. Does the Mastery trigger when you go to take your Bonus Action Extra Attack with a weapon that has the Nick Mastery? or 3. As long as you are wielding a weapon in either hand with the Nick Mastery, it doesn’t matter since the Mastery just says “When you make the extra attack of the Light Property…”?

Hello! I have a question about D&D 5e (2014):
I would like to know if the Sanctuary spell ends if the Conjure Animals Summons attack an enemy. The text of the Sanctuary spell explains that the creature protected by the spell cannot attack or cast a spell that damages or affects a creature. What would affect a creature? Does the damage caused by Summons count as being caused by the spell’s caster, since both hits and damage use the creatures’ stat blocks and not the caster’s? Is it the designers’ intention for Conjure Animals and Sanctuary to work together? Thank you in advance for your response.
We’re having a bit of a quandary about the War Caster spell-opportunity-attack thing, specifically what its targeting requirement is.
Player 1 says that the spell you use can only be a single-target spell.
Player 2 says you can use a multi-target spell (like Magic Missile), as long as only the provoking creature is targeted.
Your thoughts?
Does opening a lock require a normal Dexterity check or a Dexterity(Sleight of Hand) check? The 2024 PHB RAW seem to imply that Rogues would ONLY make a Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) checks either to unlock padlocks(or whatever the Lock item in the 2024 PHB is supposed to be) or if, and only if, they have the Thief subclass feature Fast Hands.
Hi! I’m looking for clarification on the Order of Scribes wizard from Tasha’s Cauldron. The Wizardly Quill doesn’t mention removing the 50 gp per spell level cost to copy spells, so RAW (rules as written) says the cost still applies. But thematically, the feature provides magical ink and skips the experimentation phase, so RAI (rules as intended) might suggest the cost should be waived. Could you confirm what was intended?
