Please help! My friend swears that RAI, ALL cantrips can be cast as a bonus action, regardless of actual casting time.I tried telling him the rule is if you cast a spell using your BA,you can only cast a cantrip as your standard. Who has the right interpretation? No rule says any cantrip can be cast as a bonus action.

So do you need a focus to cast spells with only verbal and somatic components?
@JeremyECrawford So do you need a focus to cast spells with only verbal and somatic components?
— John Robert Tracy (@JJRTracy) March 3, 2016
The purpose of a spellcasting focus is to substitute for free material components. It's otherwise decoration. #DnD https://t.co/8lClFttpUG
— Jeremy Crawford (@JeremyECrawford) March 4, 2016
@jeremyecrawford if that’s the case, why have material components at all?
— Loremaster Ryrok (@ryrok) March 4, 2016
Whether to use a material component or a spellcasting focus is often a question of how your spellcaster looks. #DnD https://t.co/m34UxSpImr

Do both weapons need to be light to gain the bonus attack?
@JeremyECrawford Wait, I thought only the second weapon had to be light? Do both weapons need to be light to gain the bonus attack?
— Noel Mock (@NoTMock) March 9, 2016
In two-weapon fighting, both weapons must be light, unless you have a feature like the Dual Wielder feat. #DnD https://t.co/aPqvZmjskj

Could I stand at the top of an illusory tower?
@JeremyECrawford I've seen no consensus on the realness of mirage arcane in the community. Could I stand at the top of an illusory tower?
— Zack Holmes (@Berathus) March 14, 2016
You can climb an illusory tree formed by mirage arcane. #DnD https://t.co/GE3ShrFr0j

War Caster feat: Booming Blade as a reaction to enemy provoking at 5′ -> 10′, is a reach weapon valid for the melee weapon attack?
@JeremyECrawford
Really hoping for official answer. If a character with War Caster feat casts Booming Blade as a reaction to enemy provoking at 5' -> 10', is a reach weapon valid for the melee weapon attack component of the spell?— Josh (@Gl33m1) April 11, 2018
Booming blade has a range of 5 feet, and its description says its weapon attack must be within that range. Whatever melee weapon you're using, the range is 5 feet. The spell really means it. #DnD https://t.co/4ad1qKYmM8

Kuo-Toa scepter: should I allow the 4d6 lightning damage?
@JeremyECrawford Hello Jeremy! One of my players picked up a Kuo-Toa scepter. Should I allow the 4d6 lightning damage or just the basic 1d6 blunt or something in between?
— Heath Dawson (@HeathDawson) April 3, 2018
Sometimes a monster's stat block lets a monster deliver a special effect through an object, such as lightning damage through a scepter. Unless a rule says otherwise, the special effect is a function of the monster's use of that item, not a function of the item itself. #DnD https://t.co/THzm5DLpXD
