Hey Ed. What is some common wines in menzo? Not just Lichen wine— WitnessToHisOwnDemise (@nobile_bill) February 1, 2019
After lichen wine, common Menzo vintages, as opposed to secret house recipes, are but two:
Luthquil, a syrupy-thick, smoky-flavored translucent emerald green wine derived from a particular crushed Underdark mushroom.#Realmslore 2)
And:
Roavrae, a blended wine of a particular boiled cave moss mixed with the internal juices of a specific Underdark spider, the “roave” (a plentiful small black scuttling spider; five can fit on a typical adult human palm).#Realmslore— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) February 3, 2019
#dnd encounter design tip: treat an encounter in your adventure/campaign like a character in a story. Give it a reason to be there, even if it is just to contrast to other characters. It should forward the plot, deepen the setting, highlight a theme, etc. 1/2

During 3e's Living Greyhawk campaign, we joked about "RTEs": random thug encounters. They were there just because the writer needed to add experience points to the adventure. The tighter your encounters fit with your story, the deeper and richer the experience.

@ChrisPerkinsDnD @astylepixie What are the workings and limitations of a true polymorph? If, say, an ice construct were transformed into an avariel, how are details like hair color decided? Are aesthetics limited to those natural in avariel or could it have unique icy elements?

The spell description covers the basics, but the new form needs to be a creature that exists (that is, something for which there are statistics). Another important point: the magic can be dispelled, so even a true polymorph is not irreversible. #wotcstaff https://t.co/LBoooL46it

The castle is full of risen ghosts tonight
Restlessly they clank, shriek, and glide, and moan
And I know not how to set them right
For I know not which of all these bones they rightly own— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) January 12, 2019
The magic one hath read about
And likely was slyly misled about
In one respect remains unchanging and intact
Though secret after secret hath been cracked
Magic can still kill you in a half a shriek, and that’s a fact— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) January 12, 2019
1)
Though no one should need reminding
Some folk seem to still be surprised at finding
That adventuring isn’t a game— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) January 13, 2019
2)
Last night, mighty wizard disappeared
And came back with tentacles, scales, and no beard
And a few fools thought it was really him, just the same!— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) January 13, 2019
