One of my favorite hypothetical moments in #dnd is when a wizard polymorphs a monster into something seemingly innocuous like a cow, and then the DM actually looks up the cow's stat block in Volo's Guide to Monsters, and smiles.
Something something frying pan, something fire.

Angry cows are… not fun. The cow monster in Volo's is brutal for CR 1/4. Bruu. Tahl.

Thanks, you created my encounter tonight for my game with my sister and a bunch of new players. 1st level characters, 90 min session. I think they are going to run into some charmed or polymorphous cows! Oh lord… seriously be aware that their average damage in a single full-tilt smack is 14!

Then by all means, wreak vengeance for all the ground beef by grinding level 1 PCs into fine mince!
