Maybe it’s an unpopular opinion, but I really like boxed text. Especially when setting an introductory scene. Samesies. I think it works particularly in this context to concisely set a scene and move to the action.
That first box can certainly be expanded into a scene on its own with some NPC introduction and interaction, but as some initial exposition to set the scene, I think it works

Yeah, this feels like a curtailed intro scene to get to the action. This text can be expanded into some interaction with local NPCs, and DMs should feel free to do that at any time. This is basically fine as exposition and scene setting.
