The most important need for any writing, including writing for #dnd or other #rpg, is clarity. Even the evocative language of poetry must be delivered in a clear way for the imagery and soul of the words to resonate.

Amen. Also important to remember that even the most experienced writers don't get it perfect, or even right, the first time. Each new project means many drafts and lots of rewrites and edits. Less always means more (revisions).
