Every campaign has big bad guys and giant battles. What makes your campaign distinct? I’ve found that players are more likely to remember the distinctive challenges you throw at them, like putting on an amazing fashion show or defeating the god of knowledge at pub trivia.

To be honest, the best moments in the games I’ve run have always come from emergent and unplanned events that flow from shared narrative control within the group. Challenges the players make up on the spot for their characters, riffing off each other. i think the two go hand in hand. combat is predictable. weirder challenges breed creativity.
