@mikemearls I really want to see you re-vamp two-weapon fighting rules. I'm curious what you would and wouldn't want it to work with.

One thing I'd change – treat it as a weapon ability like versatile. You can TWF with specific weapons, changes dmg die when dual wielding. https://t.co/1TxG4mJz9T

For instance – short sword might have Dual Wield (1d4), does d4 when dual wielded, off-hand attack would be bonus action, +stat mod for dmg

Primary weapon would also need to be Dual Wield, would also drop die size (or not, some weapons like dagger could keep base die)

Nifty. You said at one point that cunning action+twf isn’t broken. What about hunter’s mark? War magic? I doubt martial arts, shared niche.as long as it doesn't stack damage, it's probably OK to allow it

Isn't that already what the Light property is for?

The bonus action requirement is what makes twf feel worse, though, since it's so easy to get bonus action attacks as it is

Don't get me started about bonus actions again… https://t.co/QSfBLwF7FW

So, first attack is, say, 1d6+2 and the second attack would be 1d4+2? (using two handaxes)…and 14 Str…
— Laura Greer (@SlapsBears) July 25, 2017
Close – I'd have both at d4 in first pass (might be not enough damage, but I'd start there)
— Mike Mearls (@mikemearls) July 25, 2017
Would you just drop the damage die on the off-hand weapon, or main- and off-hand?Drop on both in first draft
— Mike Mearls (@mikemearls) July 25, 2017
Ignoring Bonus Action economy, are you unhappy w/ the Two-Weapon Fighting style? Doesn’t scale with Extra Attk, meaning good early bad late.yup
— Mike Mearls (@mikemearls) July 25, 2017
So would the Dual Wielder feat allow you to add that property to a one-handed weapon instead of ignoring the Light property?yeah, that's how i'd handle it
