@dpnorton Do we add ability modifier to unarmed strike despite no damage roll? What if the modifier is negative? #dnd #question Yes, you add your Str. mod. to the damage of a regular unarmed strike. If the modifier is negative, the strike deals no damage.

@jtburling stunned creature auto fails dex and str saves – but any effect on ability checks, like resisting a grapple attempt? Thx! The rules leave the answer to this question up to the DM. In most cases, I'd have a stunned creature fail to resist a grapple.
