If it is true that you can zigzag some wall of xxx, can I make a cage with wall of fire to trap people? ( like 10feet*4, a square )
* thorn, fire, sand, water, light, they don’t talk about “flat superfice”. Instead force and ice do it. believe yes – you can hem creatures in— Mike Mearls (@mikemearls) June 23, 2018
A very compact kit for DMing that has everything in one little bag
I have a nice, very compact kit for DMing that has everything I need in one little bag. I also just bought an enormous carrying case for when it’s time to bust out the 3D terrain and get all FANCY up in there.

Do you have a recommendation for the compact kit? I have a Rick Steves travel bag that is specially sized for an iPad. It has enough little pockets that I can fit my gear in there, keeping in mind I used PDF adventures and @DnDBeyond rather than print books

It's totally Delta Force.

How you do random encounters during a rest period?
Just wondering how you do random encounters during a rest period. What dice are you rolling and what is the number for it? comparing ideas so I can either take one or tweak something for my needs. I have a list of possible encounters (some combat, some just interesting), and I roll to see if any occur. If one does, I either roll for which one, or choose based on what’s most likely.

Which is more dangerous in your opinion: Undermountain or the Ruins of Castle Greyhawk?

If both end up killing you, does that make them equally dangerous? #dnd https://t.co/Hd5N1uiz9L

“We smell betrayal”
1)
The head highwayman stepped back into the cave hideout—and froze. There were half a dozen blades at his throat. With his fellow brigands of the road on the far ends of them.
He swallowed. “What’s this about, then?”#epic fantasy— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) July 17, 2018
2)
“We followed you, Aldric,” the tallest brigand rumbled grimly. “You met with the king’s sheriff, and talked over tankards.”
“We smell betrayal,” said another highwayman.
“Sing—and truth only, mind—or die,” snarled a third.#epic fantasy— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) July 17, 2018
3)
“Ever wonder why the king’s guards never come hunting for us? And escort only a few travelers, leaving the rest for us? Quotas, that’s why. We meet twice a season, the sheriff and I, to work out how many marks we can take.”#epic fantasy— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) July 17, 2018
4)
“The sheriff LETS us—does the KING know?”
“Of course. He calls it ‘keeping the statistics favourable.’ We take too many, he’ll hit us, all right. We take too few, and people start to think they don’t need his guards or laws…#epic fantasy— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) July 17, 2018
5)
…or taxes. Good governance, that is.”
There was silence for a moment, but the swords came down.
“So we’re an arm of government, we are,” said the tall highwayman.
A moment later, he spoke again. “Are there benefits?”#epic fantasy— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) July 17, 2018
